RAID Recovery Course
Lesson 5 - Entropy Analysis
In this lesson we discuss what entropy analysis is, how to apply it, and what information about a parity-based
RAID you can get using entropy analysis. In the video, it is shown how to recover RAID configuration for a real-life RAID 5 and RAID 6.
In the practice part, you are offered to solve two different tasks.
In both tasks, you are offered to download disk image files and using entropy analysis to try to recover array configuration, namely:
- RAID level,
- block size,
- whether all the disks belong to the same array,
- whether there is a disk missing,
- possible disk order.
