Lesson 7 – Durability of data in modern storage systems

In addition, we discuss different processes in modern storage systems like NASes, SSDs, rotational hard drives that can run on their own resulting in metadata modification.

Disadvantages of widely accepted methods of data preservation - disk cloning and writeblockers - are also considered.
